Yes. thinkcell Assist can perform live web searches and retrieve information from external sources, allowing users to access more up-to-date answers. The only requirement is that the user is connected to the internet.

Can I paste screenshots into the thinkcell Assist chat?

No. Currently, thinkcell Assist’s chat does not support pasting screenshots.

Does thinkcell Assist save my chat conversation history?

thinkcell Assist saves your chat conversation history for you to access locally, on your computer.

Can I set my translation preferences when using thinkcell Assist’s translate slides feature, e.g., to specify formality of language?

There is no dedicated setting for formality of translations, but users can create and save personalized translation prompts that include specifications, for example which version of “you” to use in the target language.

Does the translation from thinkcell Assist overwrite the current document?

Yes. thinkcell Assist overwrites elements in-place with the new language version, directly in the PowerPoint slide. You can use Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Redo (CTRL+Y) to compare versions.

Can I undo all thinkcell Assist’s text-editing actions?

Yes. The standard PowerPoint undo function (Ctrl+Z) undoes any text edits performed with thinkcell Assist.

How can I use thinkcell Assist to create slides with AI?

thinkcell Assist includes a feature that lets you create and insert a slide directly into your presentation. With thinkcell Assist, you can automatically generate and insert a summary slide that is based on all the content in your presentation, or from selected slides.

Can I use thinkcell Assist to adjust text for the entire slide?

Yes. When adjusting text with thinkcell Assist, you can choose specific objects to edit, or if you don’t select any elements, the prompt will be applied to the entire slide.

Does thinkcell Assist automatically choose which chart types to use depending on the data?

Depending on the data source, thinkcell Assist will suggest suitable chart types or use pre-defined charts from the data source.

For data in an Excel workbook, thinkcell Assist will suggest suitable chart types in Excel that you can insert into PowerPoint.

For Statista data, there is a pre-defined chart type associated with the dataset.

No. thinkcell Assist works according to the principle of user control, meaning its suggestions are prompt-driven and user-initiated.

thinkcell Assist gets data from reliable, verified data sources (e.g. Statista). No additional auditing is conducted and users are ultimately in control of data validation. When working with your Excel data, thinkcell Assist uses formulas to build new tables, letting you trace exactly where your data is coming from and verify it.

Does thinkcell Assist support multiple languages?

Yes. Multilingual prompting and translation are supported within thinkcell Assist’s system capabilities. Translation is available in 70+ languages.

Does thinkcell Assist work inside Excel?

Yes, thinkcell Assist can be used in Excel to perform tasks like running a data analysis, creating new formula-based tables from your data, and creating thinkcell charts that you can insert into your PowerPoint presentation.

Does thinkcell Assist convert PDF tables into Excel or PowerPoint?

No. thinkcell Assist’s focus is on working within Excel and PowerPoint. thinkcell Assist can read, process and create data tables in Excel, and build thinkcell charts for insertion into PowerPoint. Inside PowerPoint, you have functionalities that let you read, edit and create slide elements.

Can thinkcell Assist analyze slide content?

Yes. thinkcell Assist can read slide content and provide feedback on aspects such as clarity, structure or coherence.

Do I need thinkcell Assist if I already have Microsoft Copilot?

Yes. Professional PowerPoint users benefit from thinkcell Assist, as it is purpose-built for professional slide workflows in PowerPoint, covering advanced charting, action titles and structured content. While Copilot is general purpose, thinkcell Assist operates at a deeper level, specifically designed for business presentations.

Do I need thinkcell Assist if I use AI-native slide tools?

Yes. Many AI-native tools lack PowerPoint compatibility. thinkcell Assist is built for professional PowerPoint users and allows for far more seamless workflows when using AI to support PowerPoint presentation creation.

Do I need thinkcell Assist if I already have Claude?

Yes. Claude uses a powerful AI model, but Claude lacks the deep PowerPoint integration and spatial precision offered by thinkcell Assist. Claude is a slower and less consistent option than thinkcell Assist for professional slide work. Where useful, thinkcell Assist uses Claude for some of its operations, meaning that thinkcell Assist users always benefit from the best model for any task.

Do I need my own Statista subscription to access Statista data with thinkcell Assist?

No. Statista access to basic tier statistics is included in thinkcell Assist, subject to fair use limitations.

Can externally sourced data accessed through thinkcell Assist be exported and reused outside PowerPoint?

Usage of data accessed through thinkcell Assist is subject to the respective provider’s terms and conditions.

Can thinkcell Assist combine data from multiple providers in one chart?

Currently, thinkcell Assist can create charts from Statista or their own Excel workbooks. Users can then merge this data themselves if they wish.

Is thinkcell Assist included in the regular thinkcell license?

No. thinkcell Assist is an add-on for the standard thinkcell Suite license. Without adding thinkcell Assist, users do not have access to the AI-powered features.

Do I need a thinkcell Suite license to use thinkcell Assist?

Yes. You need a thinkcell Suite license to be able to use thinkcell Assist and access the AI-powered features.

Why can’t I see the thinkcell Assist icon in PowerPoint?

The thinkcell Assist icon is only visible for users with a valid thinkcell Assist license. If you would like to upgrade to thinkcell Assist, contact your responsible thinkcell license key holder.

Can I activate thinkcell Assist for only part of my organization?

Yes. As thinkcell Assist is based on license keys, it can be enabled via separate license keys for selected user groups.

If thinkcell Assist access is disabled, how does this affect content previously generated with the AI tools?

If you disable thinkcell Assist, you lose access to the AI-powered features, but all AI-generated content you have previously created remains in your presentations as standard PowerPoint or thinkcell elements.

Does thinkcell Assist require a specific thinkcell version?

Users need to have thinkcell Early Access to use thinkcell Assist.

Does the free thinkcell trial include thinkcell Assist?

Yes. thinkcell Assist is available by default for anyone signing up for a free thinkcell trial. It can be deselected if a user does not want to use thinkcell Assist.

No. thinkcell Assist is currently only available with thinkcell Suite. Users of thinkcell Essentials must upgrade to thinkcell Suite to add thinkcell Assist.

Does enabling thinkcell Assist automatically switch users to thinkcell Early Access?

Yes. Activating thinkcell Assist automatically places users on thinkcell Early Access.

Are automatic updates required to use thinkcell Early Access?

No. Automatic updates are not enforced for thinkcell Early Access users, but they are strongly recommended to receive continuous updates and new features as they become available.

Can I connect my own AI services to thinkcell Assist, e.g., Azure-hosted GPT?

No. thinkcell Assist does not currently support the connection of customers’ own AI services.

Do I need a DPA if I only have thinkcell Suite or thinkcell Essentials, and do not have thinkcell Assist?

No. If you do not use thinkcell Assist, no DPA is required.
