Our story
For over two decades, thinkcell has been helping professionals create high impact business presentations in PowerPoint with higher quality, precision and speed.
- 2002: thinkcell is founded in Germany by Dr. Markus Hannebauer and Arno Schödl, Ph.D., and wins the prestigious Berlin StartUp award in its first year.
- 2022: After 20 years of growth, thinkcell cements its position as the gold standard for PowerPoint presentations as its global user base passes one million people for the first time.
- 2025: With the release of thinkcell Suite, thinkcell becomes a multi-product company offering more tailored solutions for a wider range of PowerPoint users.
Our management
CEO
With over 15 years of experience in sales, management consulting, and entrepreneurship, Alexander is responsible for thinkcell's overall success through delivering growth, innovation, and customer value. His expertise lies in leading international teams, strategic planning, business development, and enterprise sales. He studied business administration & management and holds a master’s degree in finance & strategic management from HHL Leipzig School of Management.
CTO
Christian is responsible for the development of all our software products. He leads our R&D department as well as our quality assurance and customer support teams. Christian studied Physics and received his doctorate at the Free University of Berlin.
CFO & COO
Adam is responsible for the financial and operational management of the company. He has a strong track record in private equity-backed software and services businesses, where he scaled finance and operations functions to support double-digit growth. Adam holds an MBA from Mannheim Business School and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Founder & Chairman
Markus oversees thinkcell's strategic development from a board perspective and advises the company on various business aspects. Before founding thinkcell, Markus was a project manager at Fraunhofer. He studied computer science and business and holds a doctoral degree from TU Berlin with a specialization in artificial intelligence.
Founder & Technical advisor
Arno advises the company on various technology aspects. Before founding thinkcell, Arno worked at Microsoft Research and McKinsey. Arno studied computer science and management and holds a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech with a specialization in computer graphics.
