PowerPoint 2010 is slow with Sharepoint libraries using Microsoft Rights Management services (RMS)

Problem

PowerPoint 2010 is slow when a PowerPoint file was saved in a Microsoft Sharepoint library and is protected by Microsoft Rights Management services.

Solution

According to Microsoft the problem was fixed in Office 2013.
