C++ Meetup in Zurich, Switzerland 2025
March 14, 2025
On March 14th, 2025, think-cell hosted its first C++ Meetup in Zurich, in collaboration with the Zürich C++ Meetup community. Around 60 software engineering professionals attended the event, which provided an evening of expert talks and discussions tailored to the interests of C++ developers.
The meetup featured two key presentations:
- Sebastian Theophil, Senior Software Engineer at think-cell, presented "Nobody Can Program Correctly: A Practical and Interactive Guide to Debugging C++ Code." The talk covered the debugging process in detail, starting from a program crash and discussing how to diagnose the root cause. Sebastian explored tools and techniques to prevent future bugs, making the session highly interactive and applicable to real-world debugging challenges.
- Damien Buhl, Co-founder and CEO at tipi.build, delivered "CMake CPS: What It Is and Why It Matters." Damien explained Component Package Support (CPS) in CMake, diving into its practical benefits, such as improving build efficiency and correctness in large-scale projects. He shared his team's experience with CMake target scanning and leveraging CPS to optimize CPU utilization.
In addition to the technical talks, Anna and Anastasia from our tech recruiting team were available to answer questions about open roles at think-cell and to share insights into the company's work culture, which emphasizes code excellence, a flat structure, and work-life balance.
The event provided a great opportunity for the Switzerland C++ community to come together, learn from experts, and engage in meaningful discussions. We look forward to organizing more events like this in the future.
