C++ Under the Sea in Breda, Netherlands 2024

In mid-October, think-cell sponsored the inaugural C++ Under the Sea conference. Held in Breda, Netherlands, the event brought together over 300 C++ enthusiasts and marked the first C++ conference in the Benelux region.

C++ Under the Sea is a new addition to the Netherlands' conference landscape, featuring speakers from various industries sharing insights on C++. The event builds on the Dutch C++ meetup group, which has been hosting regular meetings since 2013 and now has nearly 1,700 members. We previously collaborated with the group for a joint meetup in 2023.

As gold sponsors, we were excited to support the new event and glad to connect with participants at our booth during the event. Jonathan, one of our Software Engineers, joined Julia and Anastasia from our tech recruiting team to introduce think-cell and share insights into our working culture: no meetings, no overtime, and a focus on writing high-quality product code. At the booth, we enjoyed meeting both familiar and new faces and giving away branded neck warmers, raincoats, and small packs of German pretzels.

The conference successfully attracted a strong community from across the Benelux region. We look forward to C++ Under the Sea 2025, where we and our speakers hope to contribute to the agenda and share our expertise in C++.
