IEEE VIS conference in Berlin, Germany 2018
October 23–25, 2018
This October, think-cell participated in the largest conference on Scientific Visualization, Information Visualization and Visual Analytics worldwide - IEEE VIS. For the first time, it took place in Berlin, gathering around 1,300 participants from academia, science, government and industry from all over the world.
It was a pleasure for think-cell to meet the attendees and treat them to some traditional German candy and Brandenburg gate cookies, which were extremely popular with the people visiting from abroad.
Being a gold sponsor, our CTO Arno Schödl was invited to give a talk for the conference attendees. There were more than 100 people listening to the “Automatic Slide Layout“ presentation about an easier, faster and more efficient way of slide preparation using think-cell.
The talk was received with great interest and Arno got a lot of questions. The most interesting one was if the standardization of slides “kills” the creativity. Arno explained that think-cell would be more applicable for people who make slides on a regular basis and do not need to look for a new form of presentation each time. So, once the right format is found, the product will help to optimize time and effort spent on each new presentation.
We would like to thank IEEE VIS team for organizing a great conference. It was a very valuable experience for think-cell!
