Computer Science Day at HU Berlin, Germany 2013
May 16, 2013
On Thursday, 16 May, we celebrated the Computer Science Day on the Adlershof Campus with students, research staff, and professors from Humboldt University in Berlin.
Visitors were treated to a varied academic program, which kicked off at 1 p.m. The guests were greeted by Executive Director Professor Wolfgang Reisig. This was followed by a lecture held by Professor Monika Henzinger entitled "Auctions on the Internet" and the inaugural address by newly appointed Professor Björn Schermann. After the coffee break at 3:30 p.m., prizes were awarded to the best theses and the popular ‘GONG SHOW,’ an amusing two-minute presentation of the institute’s thesis and doctoral projects, took place. More than 200 excited visitors attended the Computer Science Day, with a coffee bar and lounge to add that special touch.
In the evening Humboldt University and think-cell invited guests to a social get-together. The barbecue went on until late in the evening. The sunny weather, relaxing lounge music, and cocktails from the think-cell bar helped to create a summer-like atmosphere and a great mood.
